Tour de Hereford

By Chris

I took up road cycling about 5 years ago and received lots of support from the local cycling community and Spot-on Coaching. Riding the Tour de Hereford enables me to put something back into the community and raise my level of fitness! Fundraising has been harder this year because of the economic situation but I have received a number of donations totalling just under £200. The latest was during my ride this morning when I called at Marden Post Office and Stores for a coffee. Wearing the Hospice Jersey and engaged in conversation with staff, a lady queuing for the Post Office overheard my conversation and handed me a small donation. Sometimes it pays just to chat to people!

Whilst my mileage this year will be less than previously, I still hope to hit the 500 miles mark by the end of the challenge. And what lovely weather we’ve had throughout the three weeks!

many thanks to everyone who has supported me this year and here’s looking forward to the next one!
